Monday Through Hump Day

March 21

Couldn't get to sleep, as I never can on Sunday evenings. Skipped the gym & slept in as long as possible, and was still sleep deprived (and had to ruuush to get out the door "in time"--OK, so still late, as usual...)

-cereal (chocolate o's + love crunch granola) with organic unsweetened vanilla almond milk
-coffee with stevia

Grabbed a quick & easy lunch on my way out the door.

-frozen Amy's cheese enchilada meal

Looked gross, tasted quite good.

Had ANOTHER canceled business dinner, but I was determined to not let ANOTHER reservation or good outfit go to waste, so went anyway, just for fun.

-pomegranate martini
-glass o' cabernet
-goat cheese tart
-1 steamed chicken dumpling
-crab crusted yellowtail snapper
-scalloped potatoes
-2 rolls w/ flavored butter (cherry butter + olive butter, obvi not at the same time)

So filling, but delicious. Except the tart. It was OK. But more like corn bread with a few goat cheese crumbles on top. Not what I envisioned. Good, but wouldn't have ordered.

-frozen yogurt with fruit, chocolate sprinkles, & a few mini mini pb cups

March 22

Ate out WAYYYY too much today. And lately in general. Oink.

-a lil less than half of a banana

Workout:

-32 min cross ramp

-gluten free egg white Subway sandwich with spinach, tomato, green peppers, banana peppers, & mustard
-coffee (with TONS of coffee grounds, ewww. I literally had to spit out a HUGE mouthful of pure grounds)

The bread was pretty good. Not the best gf bread I've ever had, but passable. Good for Subway. Now if only they'd go yeast free too. A girl can dream!

-Jimmy John's tuna with lettuce, cucumber, sprouts, & dijon mustard
-"thinny" chips
-iced tea

I can't believe I ate it all. :-o

Oh. Yeah. About that yeast free thing. I intended to get an unwich (aka lettuce wrapped), but at the last second the wheaty bread just sounded too good with tuna to resist. My bad.

After the chiro my Mom wanted to take me to dinner as we haven't had time to spend as much time together as usual. She picked a new-ish restaurant we've only been to once before, Whiskey Cake. It's a little pricey for the portion sizes, but it's DELICIOUS.

-2 vodka grapefruits
-2 deviled eggs (aka 1 full egg) with smoked salmon, onion, & caper filling
-pan seared trout over spaghetti squash in a tomato-citrus sauce
-2 bites of whiskey cake

The eggs weren't the best imo, too oniony and chunky, (my Mom liked them, at least), but the rest was amazing. Especially that cake. Holy $&!+, man! YUM. Like a bread pudding covered in sugary, syrupy whiskey + topped with fresh whipped cream (which I requested on the side, as I don't love whip, but this was good!)

After dinner I ran in nearby Academy to stock up on workout shirts. I spent way too much money, but got 5 new shirts that I love (4 Under Armor's, 1 Nike). Much needed!

Continued the evening with my Mom at home snuggled up watching TV in her amazing Sleep Number bed (Bethenny Ever After & Teen Mom 2).

-a little more whiskey cake

I want to swim in a sea of this cake. Unbelievable.

March 23

Forgot my pre-workout snack again. Boo.

Workout:

-heavy lifting chest & back (3 sets of 5 reps each)

(iso lateral press @ 70 lbs, cable incline/decline press @40 lbs, cable seated fly @ 35 lbs, seated row/rear deltoid @ 70 lbs...which was a little too heavy should have gone down to 60/65ish, chest press @ 70 lbs, & finally, back extension @ 145 lbs which was too light)

-brown rice toast with egg white puff, kraft single, & grey poupon
-pumpkin spice coffee with hazelnut coconut milk creamer & eng toffee stevia

-chipotle veggie bowl (black beans, pinto beans, sauteed peppers & onions, pico, corn salsa, lettuce, guac, a lil sour cream that I didn't ask for but oh well)
-cup of starbucks caramel flavored coffee with a little vanilla stevia
-about 1/3 of an iced tea

I sent my Dad out to pick this up for me while I was in my massage. I should send him every time. When I ordered this same bowl they gave me mostly lettuce. When he got it it was packed full of beans and other goodness. Oh yeah. I had to actually eat it in 2 intervals, it was sooo filling.

-grapefruit

-low-fat mushroom stroganoff with hot sauce made w/ multi grain penne (brown rice, quinoa, amaranth, etc)

Forgot I didn't have a stroganoff seasoning packet, but prob for the better anyway (less unncessary chemicals!). I also requested low-fat sour cream & was given fat free (apparently they only had regular or ff. In that case I would have gone for the reg, but no biggie). I pumped it up with a little greek yogurt & dollop of cream cheese, greek seasoning, pink salt, black pepper, 2 splashes of hot sauce (red & green), etc. It came out OK. Good enough to eat! The hot sauce really gave it flavor.

-the last of the fro-yo

Settled in to watch American Idol & take it easy for the nite.

Sushi & Cooking Weekend

March 19

-about 3/4 of a Denny's egg white veggie & cheese omelet
-about half a side of grits w/ a lil vanilla stevia
-coffee with vanilla stevia

Had a massage & chiro appt. I was told after the massage not to workout today, but...y'know. When do I listen? Heh.

But first, I had to work for a few hours.

-blueberry muffin larabar

Still not as good as the holy grail coconut cream pie bar, but I'd say this could definitely be second place.

-a few bites of my mom's leftover fried rice
-a handful of granola

Should have just chosen one of the above, oops.

Workout:

-arms & abs (see, at least I listened to my body. My shoulders were sore and especially worked during my massage, so I subbed in arms for the scheduled shoulders!)

Dinner was a personal fave, sushi!!

-lychee martini
-cup of soup
-side salad
-a few bites of hibachi veggies + 1 hibachi shrimp, 1 hibachi scallop, & 1 bite of hibachi rice
-spicy salmon roll
-aloha roll (tuna, mango, avocado, possibly something else, wrapped in soy paper & with no rice)
-lady bug roll (tuna, avocado, possibly something else topped with crab and wrapped in soy paper)

I can really pack it away at Japanese places, huh?

My brother always gives me his soup & salad + my Dad gave me bites of his seafood, so I gave them each some sushi, totalling half a roll between them.

Usually I order one roll, 2 at most, but these were fairly small/simple, so I ate every bite (sans the giveaways). Man were they gooood. Especially the spicy salmon & avocado. Oh yeah.

-a little over half a huge frozen yogurt + all of the toppings (half filled with healthy stuff, half....not so much :))

============

March 20

Happy Spring, yo.

-side salad w/ a tiny bit of ranch

Workout:

-42 min cross ramp
-stretching

FINALLY ate "breakfast" at nearly 2 pm!! Sheesh.

-small crossiant filled with egg whites, a little cheese, & diced tomato which I added dijon mustard to
-hazelnut coffee with vanilla stevia

Had a random crossiant craving, but this was on the cold side. Oh well.

-sam's samples

Ran a million and one errands & then cooked some snacks for my brother for the week + TWO dinners (well, one faux-meat spaghetti, one lean turkey meat version)

-faux meat spagehtti in a puttenesca marinara with brown rice fettuccini noodles
-side salad (organic mixed greens, goat cheese, garlic gold nuggets, organic olive oil, organic balsamic)

-neopolitan ice cream with about 1/4 of a chocolate vitatop, rice milk whipped cream, & gluten free chocolate sprinkles

Pinch & The Forgotten Dinner

March 17

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

The first thing I did when I woke up was pinch my dog, who was in a red & navy dress :-P. She started laughing at me. True story. She's the most expressive dog ever. Then, I changed her (and the other dogs) into green outfits. Phew. (I'm not crazy, I swear!)

I took a rest day today. From work of all forms (gym & office). I planned to work from home, but...didn't. Hey, there's always tomorrow. And *groan* I think I'm working Saturday AGAIN, so it's only fair to have SOME me time.

-mini (dense!!) protein pancakes filled with everything under the sun (old fashioned oats, half a banana, peanut butter, pumpkin, pinch of flax, pinch of wheat germ, chia seeds, egg whites, organic unsweetened vanilla almond milk, vanilla powder, & cinnamon) topped with a little coconut liberte yogurt, rice milk whipped "cream," cinnamon, & a drizzle of maple syrup
-strawberry shortcake coffee with vanilla stevia & vanilla coconut creamer

Topping fail. That yogurt is unbelievable amazing (and better be, cause 1 serving is 280 cals, so I ration it), but it tasted sour on the pancakes? Lame. They were still good, just not amaaaaaazing. I also liked the peanut buttery pancake taste, but I think I prefer peanut butter as a topping instead of filling.

-salad (organic mixed greens, organic cherry tomato, garlic gold nuggets, goat cheese, shaved parmesan, organic olive oil, organic balsamic)
-half of a whole foods spinach/feta/kalamata olive pizza

First time trying that pizza. Me liiike.

Took my sons: dog Buster & cat Henry to get vaccinated (once a month our local pet store has some vets come out for 5 hours and give discount vaccines). They were troopers! I'm one proud mama bear.

Workout:

-22 min (I think, now I forget lol) treadmill in vibrams (half jogging half walking)

-broiled grapefruit with a drizzle of honey & cinnamon
-ginger peach rooibos tea

-lemon tea

============

March 18

-leftover protein pancakes with a drizzle of maple
-the last 1/3 of the liberte coconut yogurt with a diced pear
-pumpkin spice coffee with hazelnut coconut milk creamer

I thought I was still hungry after, but didn't have enough time to eat lunch until at least 3 pm, maybe later and I wasn't even thattt hungry.

-salad (organic mixed greens, goat cheese, organic olive oil, organic balsamic, garlic gold nuggets) topped with falafel dipped in lemon hummus

Went to see Limitless at the movie grill. What an ordeal. First, we got there and Limitless and Lincoln Lawyer claimed to be sold out, our two choices. My Dad asked if they had ANY seats left and they said yes, but front row. OK...then don't say sold out! We bought 2 tix for Limitless. There were WAY more seats than front row. We weren't anywhere near there, sheesh.

So, we place our dinner orders. I'd been dreaming all day about the black bean burger. BUT I was gonna toast my own brown rice toast (gluten/yeast free...) and smuggle it in. I tore apart my whole fridge & both freezers. The bread was GONE. Ugh. I didn't want a salad, so I was pretty much forced to eat meat or not eat. I really like their bbq chicken wrap, so I just went for it anyway (+a side of fruit).

Our food never came. After about, oh, 40 minutes I lost interest and decided it was a sign and I'd just make a (meat-free) dish when we got home. My dad, on the other hand, was starving. I'm surprised he didn't complain about it earlier. In fact, he didn't say a word until they dropped off our bill. Yes, they actually tried to charge us for food that never came! The nerve! At that point we told them it'd kinda be nice to get our food first and they were a little mortified. They brought out the food (slowly, though. Seriusly wouldn't you think by this point they'd put a rush on it?!) & they comped it. So that's good. Of course, mine was overcooked. Not burnt, so still edible. But come on! Get it together, peeps.

Oh, and the movie? GREAT. I really loved it. A lot.

-neopolitan ice cream with rice milk whipped cream & gluten free chocolate sprinkles

So good.
