Cookie Monster

July 17

-bowl of gluten free cinnamon chex cereal with almond milk

This stuff is soooo good. Has pretty much nothing good for you in it (no protein, fiber, etc.), but it tastes just like cinnamon toast crunch. NOM.

-big side salad (organic mixed greens, sweet peppers, grape tomatoes, dill havarti, slivered almonds, light natural ranch, black pepper)
-water

Pretty epic if I do say so myself.

-tofu curry egg roll

-chocolate chip cookie

I kind of wanted to eat 10 cookies. It's not fair that I can't. (Well, shouldn't). Ughh so good.

-another cookie (shh)
-ezekiel tortilla with pizza sauce, mushroom, garlic & herb laughing cow light, french herby soft cheese, pesto

This one wasn't very good for some reason. Boo. Not sure why I even ate it after the first bite. In fact, I realized the cookies weren't quite as delicious either. Good thing I didn't eat 10.

-lots of water with lemon
-seafood soup (lobster, shrimp, scallops, mussels, halibut)

Went to dinner with my Mom, aunt, cousin, and cousin's baby. We went to one of our usual heavy drinking spots (it's just a tex-mex/salvadoran restaurant, but they are known for their drinks) and neither my Mom or I had even one drink. Go us.

-a little bit of chocolate hazelnut coconut milk ice cream & coffee ice cream with cinnamon sprinkled on top

What would I do without jogging in place too late at nite? :-P

Swamp Thing

July 10

Today I didn't go anywhere or do anything. It's about damn time!!!

-ezekiel tortilla with pizza sauce, 2 kinds of goat cheese, pesto, basil, and oregano
-side salad (organic mixed greens, organic grape tomatoes, greek dressing, black pepper)
-water

-big bowl of mixed fruit (grapes, cherries, pear slices, strawberries)

-baked cookie dough egg roll!!!! (plus a spoonful of haagan daaz 5 coffee ice cream & a litttle white choc pb on the side)

Not exactly what I pictured & prob needed more cookie dough, but still pretty good. How could it not be???

-candy cane lane tea

-vegan tofu curry egg roll
-water

Oh, how I love these egg rolls

-another bite of the dark choc graham crackers

Had I looked at the nutritionals before buying this I prob would have put it back, but it's really very delicious. And you really only need a bite at a time.

-a "swamp thing" sushi roll (tuna/salmon/avocado inside with seaweed salad on top)
-a rainbow roll
-water

Both with soy sauce & lots of wasabi. I kept trying to convince myself I wouldn't like the seaweed salad. I always assume that. And I always like it. Which is awesome, because it's soooo good for you.

About half way through the meal I went down and got....

-a small glass of sparkling red wine

Yum.

-a few chipotle dark chocolate hazelnuts

-bowl of ice cream (half haagan daz 5 coffee, half choc chip cookie dough coconut milk ice cream)

Shaken Not Stirred

July 6

Workout:

-29 min 10 sec elliptical

I know, random time, but we initially thought we'd only be able to get 15-20 minutes in at the gym. Why we would have even bothered for that I do not know. I was determined to get at least 25-30, so I'd so I accomplished my goal.

-protein oats (kashi creamy vanilla oatmeal, about half a scoop of sun warrior chocolate raw vegan protein powder, a little over a teaspoon of sunflower seed butter)

I'm not a big fan of that oatmeal, so I was happy it was the last packet. Still, it wasn't bad all together. A little dry, but I'm pretty conservative with the amount of water I use in instant oatmeal. I HATE watery oatmeal.

-an ezekiel tortilla I dipped in some hummus + a few leftover hazelnut thins
-a little bit of cous cous salad
-1 cocoa raw macaroon
-water

Oddly, I got hungry only a little over 2 hours after breakfast, so I dipped into lunch a couple hours early. Then, when I was planning to eat the rest for my real lunch, I wasn't hungry enough.

I did (as I ALWAYS do...) want some Starbuckies though :). My Mom was kind enough to pick me up one (+ an AWESOME new cup/bottle) when she went to get her own lunch out, so I didn't have to stop working to go get it myself.

-grande soy iced latte

I just asked for a tall, but luckily she knows me better than that, because I sucked that, well, sucker down right away. She had it put in the new bottle too. I kiiind of felt like a baby drinking it's bottle, but still loved it all the same. She also got me a box of their new instant via iced coffee. It has sugar in it, so I probably wouldn't have bought it myself (if you're a new reader, I'm a black coffee girl all the way as far as regular coffee goes), but I always appreciate a gift! Plus, I tried a sample the other day and it was pretty good, so I'll put that to good use.

-another mini container of whole foods shrimp cocktail
-water

I'm telling you, I cannot get enough of that stuff. So good.

-this Alexia brand potato/white bean/onion in a pesto-y sauce thing
-ridiculous amounts of snow crab legs
-side salad (organic mixed greens, organic local tomatoes, organic baby carrots, a lil natural ranch, garlic gold nuggets, black pepper)
-water

-approx. 1/2 cup coconut milk cookie dough ice cream (not my fave-fave of the coconut milk ice creams, but still rather delightful)

Workout 2:

Well, this part I wouldn't count as a workout even though technically it is, but I jogged in place for prob 20-30 minutes during Losing It. Only after eating my ice cream, of course. THEN, my Mom asked me to get on her treadmill to test the heart rate monitor for a second. Hers reads VERY high (160's-170s even when she just walks), but mine, I think, read low (around 99, even though I had been jogging for awhile already. I assume my real heart rate was closer to 110/120). So who knows what's up with that, if anything. I'm trying to convince her to get a heart rate monitor for a piece of mind. I'm not worried about myself, but she's anxious about it saying hers is so high when we doubt it really is. ANYWAY, even though I was in flip flops and it drives my Mom insane to see me do this, I stayed on the treadmill for 25 minutes walking.

I love seeing 2 workout stickers on my calender in one day.

Who do I think I am? ;)

Outfit of the Day:

Kind of looks wrinkled, yikes

Speaking of outfits, isn't this dog shirt so cute? I got it for my dog Buster when he was a baby, but he outgrew it years ago, so I gave it to my friend for her new puppy I've talked about. So cute.

Long Day Part 2

June 23

Workout:

-about 30 minutes doing weight machines (only made it through 3 machines: 3 sets of 10 each machine + 1 other machine I did 1 set and was like eh no thanks and moved on lol)
-5 min treadmill

-heaping teaspoon of vanilla cranberry peanut butter
-honey corn flakes with strawberries & almond milk
-water

-side salad (organic mixed greens, sliced strawberries, safflower oil, lemon juice, drizzle of honey)
-tazo zero calorie zen iced tea bottle

I randomly got coupons in the mail for this tea. It's OK. A little too sweet, but I like the zen tea, so it's worth it for free ;). If it was unsweetened I'd be obsessed.

-same heavenly goat cheese/laughing cow light/jam quesadilla on ezekiel as yesterday. the work microwave didn't make it quite as epic, but it still went down smooooth
-2 raw coconut balls

-which wich black bean patty sandwich w/ all the veggies pretty much + avocado and mustard
-sour cream & onion baked lays
-iced tea
-iced tea mixed w/ a tiny bit of diet lemonade

-small side salad (mixed greens, goat feta crumbles, cherry tomato, greek & feta dressing)
-4 small veggie dolmas

-cappuccino almond milk ice cream mixed with german chocolate coconut milk ice cream

Almond milk ice cream isn't as good as coconut milk, but it's still pretty bueno.

Workout 2:

-50 minutes treadmill

Worked another full day. Didn't get home 'til nearly 9:30 pm. =-o. Just call me workaholic. LOL yeah right.

*hearts*

June 21

-chobani pineapple greek yogurt with cut up pineapple chunks + a big handful of honey corn flakes

I finally decided if I'm back to eating some dairy, I sure as hell get to eat the occasional greek yogurt. My faaaave.

Woke up at a decent hour-FINALLY. Another finally: my alarm worked! It hasn't gone off for like 3 days. It's really weird. Instead of getting to work early I had to watch True Blood first! *heart heart*

BTW-from now on work drama is over. *fingers crossed* Drama-rama woman is no longer part of our office and the rest of us all *heart* each other, so it should be all good. Pleaseeeee. NO. MORE. DRAMA. We can't take it.

-leftover veggie lasagna
-side salad (mixed greens, raw broccoli, organic italian dressing)
-strawberries + rainier cherries
-diet pepsi (yuuuck, idk why I thought I wanted this, I only drank a little)

That lasagna is so good, even better as leftovers. Yum. Love those brown rice noodles!

-hummus & pecan thins

-burrito (ezekiel tortilla, garlic flavored brown rice, black beans with a little taco seasoning, guacamole, salsa)
-side salad (mixed greens, chunks of avocado, cherry tomato, ranch dressing mixed w/ salsa)
-as much as I could handle of a too too hot (and too too expensive) green chili corn tamale
-water

I love corn tamales, but those were so spicy. In a bad way. Hate when that happens. Luckily my Dad loves them (How?!), so he gets the rest. The burrito was OK. It was my first time trying those tortillas and I liked them a lot. I don't think I've met an ezekiel product I haven't liked. Good stuff.

-german chocolate coconut milk ice cream

I knew I liked the chocolate coconut milk ice cream, but my cousin recommended this flavor. A litttle too coconuty (with the flakes), but still amazing. YUM. A little goes a long way too, I actually dumped about 1/3 of my bowl back because I was satisfied with less. Coconut milk ice cream, we're going to be friends for a very long time.

I wasn't able to work out again. :(. I left work at 5:30 and by the time I grocery shopped, made dinner, and ate it was after 8:00. Normally I'd still work out, but I'd have needed to digest a little first. It just wasn't a good idea if I wanted to get up early to go to the gym (and get back on schedule....) in the morning. Now that means I HAVE to go to the gym, right?

But again, I somehow burned my cals and a few more for the day (2317), so it's OK I guess. Just can't make it a habit not to workout, even if I am burning good cals doing my daily activities.

But man I am SO TIRED. I bet I'll sleep good tonite. I better!

Outfit of the Day:

(I was on my way out the door, hence the sunnies)

My brother said I looked like "a legally blonde girl trying to dress professionally." LOL.
