Car Accident :(

January 27

Workout:

-33 min elliptical

-cinnamon raisin bagel thin with whipped cream cheese, an egg white puff, & an organic veggie sausage + a drizzzzzle of maple syrup
-apple slices
-coffee with english toffee stevia & slightly warmed & frothed vanilla rice milk (p.s. rice milk doesn't really foam, who knew)

I also had a breakfast visitor:

He was sniffing everything, LOL.

-amy's vegan shepard's pie topped with lots of black pepper
-iced green tea with stevia

The shepards pie is only 160 cals, so not a real meal in and of itself. But really tasty!

We were already a few min late to watch Kendyll & the construction on our street didn't help. Especially when someone ran into us at a red light. WTF? That's gotta be great for my already chronically pained body, UGHH! It was an accident, but it still doesn't make sense how it even happened. Thank God we weren't seriously hurt, but it still sucks.

Got to KK's only 15 min late, even after all that.

-side salad (organic mixed greens, sliced tomato, matchstick carrots, lemon hummus, a little salsa, black pepper, crushed tortilla chips)

Took Kendyll to free play at Gymboree (thanks to a sweet neighbor helping us put her car seat back in that the dumb car wash people took out last week!) She seemed to have a great time. It was her first time!

At least she had a couple fun hours, because later that nite she came down with a double ear infection. Poor girl!

-salmon kabobs
-greek salad
-hummus w/ 2 pita triangles

-2.5 or 3 chocolates from last v-day lol

First Half of the Week

January 24

Workout:

-heavy lifting abs & shoulders (well, heavy on shoulders, pretty much the regular ab-age)

-bowl of fiber one mixed with special k protein with a little unsweetened organic vanilla almond milk (Jillian Michaels freaked me out on fbook, saying nonorganic almonds have 9x the pesticides + most are genetically modified, so trying to only do organic now)

I tried to eat the lightest, but most filling thing b/c I had a dr appt and didn't want to be extra extra heavy at the weigh in. Haha I am a freak. Or just a girl.

What you may notice, is that I had no caffeine. I didn't want to get weighed down by liquids! Shuttup. I wasn't sure if I'd be "addicted" to coffee, since I generally limit myself to one cup/morning (2-3 on sat and sundays, but whatever, who's counting?). Well, it could have been psychosomatic, but I had a bad headache all morning that even 3 advil couldn't touch. I had to bring in the big guns...

-tall skinny vanilla latte with an extra shot

WHY did I order that? I MUST have been caffeine deprived. Dairy milk AND sugar-free syrup? Gross. It was literally the first coffee drink that came to mind, so I just said it. LOL. It tasted artificial. The dairy milk I can handle, the sugar free? Gross. Oh well, about 3 sips in my headache went away. WEIRD. I don't like NEEDING something. Might have to put a stop to that. Except, I also kinda dig my morning coffee. My whole life it made me literally sick to my stomach to think of coffee as anything other than an afternoon pick me up. Weekend brunch drink at most. But now that I'm one of you weird "morning people" (OK, I'm still not a jump out of bed chipper morning freak, but I do get up around 7 and that's something, lemme tell ya...), I needs me some coffs!

-citrus salad

I don't really understand that name, as there was no citrus in it. But ok. It was a mix of greens with dried cranberries, raisins, and apricots. It would have been alright, but it was pretty much drenched in mango vinaigrette. Less is more when it comes to dressing, people. Get with the program. Also, I asked if I could have a side of sweet potato tator tots. How good does that sound? I KNOW, right? At first they said sure, but then they said they couldn't because they didn't know how to ring it up. Uh. Ok. Technically they're only offered as a side dish to a kids meal or part of the "pick four" appetizer combo. I get it. BUT they do have sides of fries + sweet potato fries. Ring it up as sweet potato fries, geez. But alas, they said it was impossible, so no tots for me. Sad face. I stole a few of my mom's regular fries, but they're not sweet potato totness, let's get real! I should have just ordered a kids meal too. I actually think that would have even been cheaper than a side of fries. Coulda shoudla woulda, right? I did think of it at the time, but decided not to. Bad move, Amanda. Bad move. I still want the tots. :-P

Oh, and I guess I didn't mention. Ate this at the movie grill. Yep, I'm on a movie roll, apparantly. Saw No Strings Attached. The most fluffy movie as of late, but sometimes it's just as nice or nicer to stare at pretty people for an hour and a half as opposed to watching 2+ hour depressing dramas, y'know? Both have their moments, but mindlessness can be much needed.

-slice of toasted cherry chocolate wheat bread with pb

-"chicken" pizzawich (2 slices of sourdough, goat cheese, pizza sauce, 2 boca "chicken" nuggets)
-veggie sticks
-a little dip in the dark chocolate stash...

==================

January 25

Workout:

31 min cross ramp

-cinnamon raisin bagel thin with whipped cream cheese, extra cinnamon, & an egg white puff
-apple slices
-organic green tea

-black bean patty which wich on wheat with dijon mustard, ketchup, lettuce, tomato, avocado, caramelized onions, peppers, pepperocinis
-more apple slices

-hazelnut wafers

-kids chocolate yogurt cone

-spaghetti with marinara
-salad (organic mixed greens, matchstick carrots, diced tomato, goat cheese crumbles, black pepper, lime vinaigrette)
-glass of beaujolais

-organic dark chocolate sun cup (faux reeses made with sunflower seed butter)

Not as good as real reeses :-p

New shirt...not sure if I like it yet or not. It's from Anthropologie. I loved it when I first saw it, but I also thought it was an open cardigan. When I found out it was a big, boxy shirt I was kinda over it, but tried it on anyway. And surprisingly liked it. For casual days. But I know stripes generally make people look wider & oversized clothes do the same, so it makes me feel kinda self conscious!

IDK, that's not a great pic of it. But I love the color.

Close up of the necklace...

January 26

Workout:

-finished abs & shoulders

-cinnamon raisin bagel thin with whipped cream cheese & an egg white puff
-apple slices
-coffee with stevia & vanilla rice milk

Breakfast was quickly eaten on my new bar stools!!!! Thanks, Dad. I've been wanting bar stools forEVER and my Dad randomly bought 2 when he saw a nice furniture store going out of business. They delivered the same day. He also bought a new kitchen table. All because he randomly lost his glasses prescription & had to go pick it up & noticed the furniture sale next door.

-a couple more apple slices

Didn't want a growling stomach during my massage!!

-grilled chicken sandwich
-side salad w/ balsamic
-side pasta salad
-iced tea
-small iced sugar cookie

I asked for no cheese, but whatever

I brought my own lunch, but my Mom went to Chocolate Angel (a local bakery/cafe) and I can't say no to their chicken sandwich. It's the bread. It's kind of like a hawaiian sweet roll. SO amazing. The reason she went was because our new coworker lost a family friend this week (RIP), so we got her cookies & a little gift as a little I'm sorry gesture. She insisted I have one of the cookies, who am I to say no? :-P. Really, I don't love sugar cookies, but frosting is my bitch (lol I'm so crude) & it was small. Plus it said "U R Tweet." Come on.

-small chocolate hazelnut gelato

Caught these little rascals snuggling up together when I got home:

Love is in the air ;)

-leftover spaghetti (this time it had some lean meat sauce in it. Not my pick, but it was my mom's. I figured it was quick & proteiny, so oh well)
-salad (organic mixed greens, matchstick carrots, lemon hummus, garlic espressions dressing, grey poupon, garlic gold, black pepper)
-the rest of the apples I took to work
-glass of beaujolais

-sun cup

Me & my sugar...*sigh*

Tried out these new nail sticker-polish things:

Love the look, but the process was super annoying.

Another Weekend

January 21

AKA

Food Letdown Day

-oats in a jar

OK, but not peanut buttery enough, oddly.

-large americana with stevia and a splash of soy

Terrible. I tried this Starbucks wannabe place once before (it's right across the street from my Dad's dermatologist). I thought the soy latte was weak, but figured I'd give it another chance. This americana was both too weak & too burnt tasting at the same time. Not great. It has ALL good reviews online. What gives? Are these people nuts?! :-P

-Amy's Mexican casserole
-entire bottle aka 2 servings of Kevita Matcha Green Tea (comparable to a Kombucha, but a different strain of probiotics and slightly less carbonation...pretty good taste)

Casserole was bland. Needed a hefty scoop of greek yogurt at the very least. I remember liking it last time I had it. I wonder if they changed it?

-2 hersheys kisses
-handful of chips & 2 bites of guac

I thought work today was going to be closer to a half day, but if anything I stayed longer than usual. Oh the joys of our office always being behind...

-dark chocolate cherry Kind bar

Finally, something good. Would be unbelievable had they added pretzel pieces too. But alas, good enough as is too.

-2 slices of brown rice bread with pizza sauce, goat cheese, basil, oregano, drizzle of truffle oil
-like one bite of dark chocolate

Not as good as the other day. Not crunchy enough and the truffle oil may have been a bit much.

-a few bites of a veggie pizza (well, supreme, but I took off the meat) my dad brought home yesterday that I told him not to :-P
-a few dips in the candy drawer (until I realized I don't eat candy fast enough and it was all stale and hard, so I gave it to my brother LOL)

Since (almost) everything I ate pretty much SUCKED today I kept grazing looking for something tasty. Hate that!

==============

January 22

-half of a pb&j Kind bar

Workout:

-1 hr 20 min heavy lifting (finished chest & back + did ALL of legs & arms)

-3/4 of a good grains bagel with lox, cream cheese, etc.
-1/4 of a plain bagel with light cream cheese (ugh, my dad wanted part of my bagel, so I said I'd try his green chile bagel, but he accidentally ate all of the green chile top part & left me with the plain bottom. With light cream cheese. I hate (plain) light cream cheese from Einstein's too. FAIL! He offered to trade back, but whatev)
-2 cups o' stevia-d coffee

-a few (maybe 5?) pomegranate vanilla cashews
-a small pellegrino

-chips & salsa
-chips & queso (+1 corn tortilla)
-grilled salmon
-cucumber salad (the best part, oddly. I don't love cucumbers, but whatever vinegary dressing they put on them REALLY complimented it)
-black beans
-a lil mexican rice
-one skinny margarita

McFeaster! I don't even want to know how many cals/how much sodium I ate. Actually I do. But it would be no bueno, that's for sure. Good thing the waiter was SLOW or I prob would have had 2 margaritas.

After dinner I saw The Fighter. Seemed really long, but it was pretty good.

==============

January 23

-a few handfuls of, as I call them, "organic golden grahams"

Workout:

-40 min elliptical
-stretching

-lil coffee sample from Sprouts (I couldn't wait any longer!!)

Found THE funniest overalls/tshirt combo for my pets. Actually, this is like the third week in the row I've been obsessed with these. Too bad this is the smallest side they had left. Not fair, I neeeed a little one!

-half of a Thomas cinnamon raisin bagel thin with whipped cream cheese & a little cinnamon on top

These are SUPER tasty and smell even better! I got these for free as part of a BzzAgent campaign. We could pick any flavor we liked, as long as they were the Thomas brand. I thought I read that the cinnamon raisin wasn't out until February, but my Walmart had them. They are so yum! Thanks Bzz Agent! And half was only 55 calories, woohoo.

FINALLY a real meal. Past 1 pm...maybe even closer to 2, because we were there during the Packers/Bears game.

-eggs benedict with hollandaise on the side
-fried breakfast potatoes with ketchup
-coffee with vanilla stevia
-mimosa

Had a coupon for Humperdink's buy one get one free brunch. + the Mimosa was only 2 bucks. Eh. It was OK, can't really go wrong with my order, but still. It was my first time eating there in general I prob wouldn't go back. Def not for brunch. Even with one free entree it was still borderline pricey, only mediocre tasting, and the brunch selection was small. Besides a veggie omelet (which I doubt I could have gotten just egg whites, but to be fair I didn't ask), this was my only real non cheap meat filled option (well, mine came with some crappy quality looking super thin canadian bacon, but I took it off). Oh well. We tried.

I also tried a new restaurant for dinner. After returning a bunch at Anthropologie (Christmas stuff. I'm a little late). It was stupid expensive and while good, not great. The server was kinda awkward. The portions were way too small for the price (and not in that we're-a-high-class-restaurant-so-it's-classy-to-charge-for-small-amounts kinda place). I don't know. I liked my food, but it just wasn't worth it, ykwim? Again, we tried.

-cup of spicy veggie miso soup
-spinach salad with artic char
-glass of rather delightful cabernet

-a few strawberry sour patch straws (gave the rest to my brother when I got home)

Saw Blue Valentine. Great acting. The actual movie was OK. I liked it, but idk. Just another depressing indie film type. Would have liked more middle-info on the characters relationship too. We get to see the beginning & end, but the middle is ignored. Kinda defeats the purpose of showing you HOW it gets that way. It too seemed needlessly long. But I wouldn't say I was bored or anything. Just ADD-ish.

All in all a good, albeit busy weekend.

xo,
Amanda
